Why You Should Find the Shredder Autosalvage Unit Engineering Recipe in World of Warcraft Season of Discovery

The Shredder Autosalvage Unit wasn’t in Vanilla WoW. So, even if you played the game at that time, you might not know where to pick up this recipe. You might need the Shredder Autosalvage Unit because it harvests the Shredder Turbocharger from the Venture Co. Light Shredders, which you’ll find in Stonetalon Mountains. Additionally, a Shredder Turbocharger is used for a quest (“Shredder Turbochargers”), which is needed to unlock the following runes:

• Harmonious Epiphany (Priest).
• Rune of Dual Wield Specialization (Shaman).
• Rune of Lone Wolf (Hunter).
• Rune of Main Gauche (Rogue).
• Rune of the Pact (Warlock).
• Rune of Sacrifice (Paladin).
• Rune of Survival (Druid).
• Rune of the Warbringer (Warrior).
• Spell Notes: Rewind Time (Mage).

Where to Find the Shredder Autosalvage Unit Recipe

If you want to grab the recipe to craft a Shredder Autosalvage Unit, you need to head to the Deadmines. It drops off Sneed’s Shredder. To learn it, you need 135 Engineering.

However, its drop rate is rather low at about 2%, according to WowHead. This makes sense, as I have yet to see it drop in Deadmines. And my friends who play SoD haven’t had it drop, either.

Once you do get it, you’ll finally be able to craft the Shredder Autosalvage Units. But fair warning: they’re single-use items. You’ll need to keep plenty on hand to salvage the Shredders. On the bright side, you could craft these and sell them to make some money off the Auction House if you want, since they’re needed for a set of runes. I have to pick them up myself as a Mage who didn’t take up Engineering.
