Marvel’s Midnight Suns: How to Unlock Venom

Here's what you need to know about unlocking Venom in Marvel's Midnight Suns.

After several months of anticipation, Venom has finally been added as a playable character in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. While he was one of the central antagonists in the first act of the game, Eddie Brock never joined up with the titular Midnight Suns to fight back against Lilith. With the launch of the Redemption DLC, he’s finally able to be a part of your party as you take on the challenges the game throws your way.

There are a few things you’ll need to do in order to start playing as the symbiote. Here’s everything you need to know about how to unlock Venom and start his DLC missions.

How to Get Venom in Marvel’s Midnight Suns

The first thing you need to do to get Venom as a playable character in Midnight Suns is to have purchased either the game’s Season Pass or the Redemption DLC itself. Unfortunately, this means that you’ll need to pay for the anti-hero since the DLC isn’t free, but luckily, there’s more to the DLC than simply the additional character.

If you want to get all four additional DLC characters (Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm,) buy the Marvel’s Midnight Suns Season Pass for $49.99. If you only want Venom and the rest of his DLC content but aren’t interested in getting anyone else, you can buy the Redemption DLC on its own for $14.99.

Once you have the DLC purchased and downloaded, start the game.

How to Unlock Venom in Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Even though you’ve bought the DLC, Venom isn’t unlocked by default as soon as you start the game. Because he has a part to play in Midnight Suns‘ early hours, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve wrapped up his missions and lifted the curse Lilith has on him before he can start hanging out with you in the Abbey. In order to unlock him, you’ll need to finish the main story mission “Shattering Expectations.”

In the mission, you’ll reclaim the Sanctum Sanctorum from Venom and Lilith, and once it’s over, a new mission called “The Devil’s Due” will appear on the Mirror Table in the New York City region. This is the start of the Redemption DLC missions, and Eddie Brock will join your party once it’s completed. Once he does, you’ll be able to interact with him in the Abbey and choose him for missions just like with the rest of the game’s cast.

In addition to unlocking Venom as a playable character, the Whisper Web Abbey upgrade also becomes available once you’ve finished “The Devil’s Due.”

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. For more guides, check out our Midnight Suns guide hub right here.
