The very first ARK DLC of course comes with new engrams for crafting weapons, structures, and other items on your quest to tame the dinosaur-infested wilderness.

Want to see just the Scorched Earth engrams and nothing from the base ARK experience? On the engram screen just remove the “ARK Prime Engrams” check box at the top-left corner and it will cull out all the base engrams.

You won’t actually be able to see most of the new Scorched Earth options until you hit high enough level and unlock them first. Below we list out every single new engram available in Scorched Earth by type.

Basic Scorched Earth Engrams

Preserving Salt

Cost: 3 engram points

Requires: level 5

Made by combining Salt and Sulfur with a mortar and pestle and can be preserved indefinitely by placing in a Vessel. Preserving Salt is primarily used to keep your food from spoiling quickly.

Cost: 3 engram points

Requires: level 5

Made by combining Sand and Cactus Sap with a mortar and pestle and is used to craft Adobe structures.

Cost: 10 engram points

Requires: level 15

Made with 20 Clay, 10 Wood, 7 Thatch. You can put Preserving Salt in a Vessel so that it never spoils and can be used longer to preserve your food.

 

Oil Jar

Cost: 15 engram points

Requires: level 20

Made with 3 Propellant, 3 Gunpowder, 5 Clay and is used to create oil slicks for slowing enemies or lighting on fire.

Made with 1 Sulfur, 1 Cactus Sap, 1 Oil using a mortar and pestle and is used to craft Flame Arrows, Oil Jars, Flamethrower Ammo, and Cluster Grenades.

Made with 140 Hide, 80 Fiber, 30 Wood and is placed on the Morellotops dino.

Adobe is a new type of building, much like Thatch or Stone, except that it has better insulation properties to protect against the relentless heat of the Scorched Earth map. All of the same basic construction objects are now available in Adobe versions.
