Our tour of Dead Island 2‘s infected Los Angeles continues into the suburbs, as we visit Beverly Hills and the nearby B-movie production firm, Monarch Studios. Both maps have some hidden lockboxes full of loot, including a unique weapon. Here’s how to get all safe, locker, and suitcase keys in these two areas.

Dead Island 2: Where to Get All Lockbox Keys in Beverly Hills and Monach Studios
All Lockboxes in Dead Island 2’s Beverly Hills
Unless otherwise mentioned, all lockboxes in Dead Island 2 contain a randomly-determined weapon of at least rare quality that’s the same level as you are.
A word of warning: On your first trip to Beverly Hills, several houses are guarded by “skull” zombies, which are hard-coded to be at least five levels higher than you are if not much higher.
You can still kill a “skull” zombie with smart tactics, but it’s easier to leave and come back later when you’re around level 15 through 20.
Michael’s Safe
While you’re searching for Michael during “O Michael, Where Art Thou?” glance out the front window of his house and you might see a named zombie, Michael’s Protege, right in his driveway (see featured image). She’s got the key to the safe in Michael’s living room.
Family Garage Safe

In the big empty house west from Michael’s, you can find this, as the name suggests, in the garage. A unique Walker, the Nosy Neighbor, can appear at night at the dead-end road north of Farouk’s house, which you visit during the side quest “Resurrect the Rex.”
Party Contraband Case

You need to get at least partway through the side quest “The Ballad of Rikky Rex” to reach this lockbox, since it’s in Rikky’s bedroom closet on the second floor of his house.
If you wrap up “The Ballad of Rikky Rex” and return to Rikky’s back patio later in the game, you can grab the lockbox key from a named Crusher, the Party Bouncer, who appears during the day.
Brentwood Waste Bin

This is easily overlooked, as it’s in the back room in the wastewater treatment plant where you find Phil during “Justifiable Zombicide.” The key is held by a named Screamer, Brentwood Staff, who can appear on the road just outside the treatment plant at night.
Nikki’s Bounty Reward
You can stop by Nikki Gutte’s house in Beverly Hills as soon as you reach the map, but can’t get inside until Sam breaks its door down during “Justifiable Zombicide.” There’s a lockbox in her bedroom closet, but you won’t be able to open it until much later in the game, when you can collect the key from a named Butcher called Target Practice who patrols widely around Beverly Hills.
Nikki’s lockbox contains the blueprint for the Superior Ranged Liquidator weapon mod and a unique heavy revolver, Extinction Event.
Construction Team’s Safe
You might spot this safe during “Kwon With the Wind,” in a closet on the top floor of the construction site. If you come back to this area at night after “Blood Drive,” you may find the Site Foreman, who’s become a Mutator. If you can take him down, he’ll drop the key to the safe.
Secure Bio Container

In roughly the center of the map, a house has been turned into a research center for the Army. It’s covered in Caustic-X, frequented by Slobbers, and guarded by several “skull”-level deadly zombies, including a Runner named SSG Hernandez who will take your head off if he sees you. Hernandez hangs out at the end of the road outside the house and is hard-coded to be at least level 20.
Once you’ve got the firepower to handle Hernandez, you can return to the “acid house” and kill him for his key. It opens a biohazard bin on the house’s first floor, which contains the powerful if situational weapon perk Acid Rain.
All Lockboxes in Dead Island 2’s Monarch Studios
Security Guard’s Cooler

You can break into the studio’s security booth by destroying the maglock panel on its exterior wall. The zombie with the lockbox key, simply named Monarch Security, is a Walker who appears inside Jimmy Montana’s trailer during the day.
Kelli Jo’s Suitcase

Naturally, this is in Kelli Jo Longetieg’s trailer, on Best Supporting Path on the east side of the lot. Kelli Jo herself appears as a Screamer on Shutterbug Avenue outside the sitcom set, day or night, at any time after “Justifiable Zombicide.”
Space Fox 2250 Prop

The Space Fox prop box is on the north side of the studio lot, at the end of Sinclair St., in what will become Slobber territory if you return after “O Michael, Where Art Thou.”
If you return to Monarch Studios in the daytime, the Space Fox Prop Master can appear as a Spiky Runner nearby, on the north side of Stardom Way.
