Diablo 4 emotes let you communicate with other players in your party or those you come across in the world when playing the action RPG. Because the game is fully online, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to use the emote wheel or emote button to get their attention or even cheer them on. But if you don’t know how to use them, they aren’t of any use. Here’s what you need to know.

How Do You Emote in Diablo 4?

For PC players, Diablo 4 has text chat available, allowing you to type a message that can be read by nearby players or those in the realm. However, Diablo 4 emotes allow for quicker animated responses when you want to convey something that you don’t want to type out, such as a cheer or a taunt.

To use emotes in Diablo 4, simply open your action wheel (the “E” key or relevant prompt on controller). This will bring up several commands and, if you check another panel, you’ll see a list of saved actions.

Examples include animations like Sorry, Help, Cheer, Bye, Follow, and others. Some are already part of the emote wheel, but you can make changes by clicking on the Customize option. This will bring up the remaining options that you can assign to the wheel.

These functions, while limited, should help you enjoy the world of Sanctuary more, especially with numerous players also exploring. Perhaps you might want to do the Point emote if you see a boss or rare enemy, or use the Cheer emote to express excitement. Likewise, some side quests require you to use these actions, such as the Secret of the Spring.

Apart from the above, the action wheel also allows you to assign other commands and functions.

  • The Miscellaneous tab lets you open the chat, report a bug, report content violations, or leave the dungeon.
  • The Social tab, meanwhile, has shortcuts like adding someone as a friend or joining a party.

And that’s what you need to know about Diablo 4 emotes. Now get out there and cheer someone on. Or don’t. It’s up to you. For more guides and tips, head here.
