How to Unlock Mirabel and Mini-Casita

To initiate The Golden Doorknob quest, you’ll simply have to explore your valley until you come across the sparkling golden doorknob on the ground. It will spawn randomly, so be on the lookout. Once you locate it and put it in your inventory, the questline will begin. We’ve provided a screenshot below that will help you know what to look for.

Once you pick up the doorknob, you’ll be asked to locate Merlin for more information. After speaking to him, you’ll learn that the theme of friendship is woven throughout the update, and you’ll have to work with your island Villagers to bring Mini-Casita back to the Village. The following tasks are your friendship-leveling activities:

  • Take a picture with three different villagers.
  • Give two different villagers one of their daily favorite gifts.
  • Have daily discussions with two different villagers.

If you love an in-game multitasking opportunity like we do, it would be a good idea to choose villagers that still need to make it to Level 10 friendship so that you can level them up while you complete the questline.

After completing the three objectives above, you’ll simply have to pay Merlin 500 Dreamlight. If you don’t have enough to complete the quest, you can turn to your daily Dreamlight Duties for some quick Dreamlight farming opportunities, or craft some excess Dream Shards into Dreamlight.

When it’s all said and done, you’ll be ready to receive the Mini-Casita and place it in your Valley. Despite its namesake, the Mini-Casita doesn’t seem so mini in-game, and you may have to reorganize some things to place it in your Valley. Regardless, it’s worth the effort because it is undoubtedly a cool house to add to your neighborhood.
