Travel to the Northern Cave

The 9mm ammo for Compact Pistol can be found inside a cave in the north of the island at coordinates x6461, y3474. The box with ammo can be seen right at the entrance, so you can grab it relatively quickly.

Note that there is a way to keep collecting the 9mm ammo in Sons of the Forest due to its loot respawn mechanics. This means that you can get as much ammo as you need by simply following these steps:

1. Enter the northern cave and pick up 9mm ammo.
2. Set up a camp right outside the cave.
3. Save the game and exit.
4. Load the latest save and respawn inside the camp.
5. Pick up another box of 9mm ammo in the cave, where it respawned.

You can repeat this process as much as you need in order to get an infinite amount of ammo for your pistol.
