Making a Blast Furnace requires players to have access to a furnace and a crafting table. Additionally, players will also need the following ingredients:

• Five iron ingots
• Three Smooth Stone blocks.
• One furnace

After gathering all these ingredients, interact with your crafting table to begin making the Blast Furnace. In the first row, place one iron ingot in each box. In the second row, place one iron ingot in the left box, the furnace in the center, and the final iron ingot in the right box. Lastly, fill the bottom boxes with one Smooth Stone block each. Correctly placing these items will create a Blast Furnace.

How to Make Iron Ingots

There are three ways that players can craft iron ingots in Minecraft. The first and most well-known method is smelting raw iron in a furnace. Each piece of raw iron smelted will create one iron ingot.

The second method is turning a Block of Iron into ingots. To do so, you’ll need to take the Block of Iron and place it onto either a crafting table or the crafting menu in your inventory. This method will create nine iron ingots.

The third and final method of making iron ingots is combining nine iron nuggets on a crafting table. Interact with the crafting table and place one iron nugget in each box of the crafting menu. Doing this will create one iron ingot.

How to Make Smooth Stone

To make Smooth Stone, you’ll need a furnace and regular stone blocks. Put one stone in the furnace and smelt it to get a Smooth Stone block. You’ll have to do this three times to get enough Smooth Stone for this recipe.

How to make a furnace

While players can find furnaces in villages, it is much easier to craft one personally. The only required materials are eight cobblestone blocks and a crafting table. Interact with the crafting table and fill the eight outer blocks with one cobblestone block each, leaving the middle square empty. Doing so will complete the recipe for a regular furnace.

Benefits of Using a Blast Furnace in Minecraft

There are two main benefits of using a Blast Furnace. The main one is that the blast furnace smelts twice as fast as the regular furnace. However, it still consumes the same amount of fuel per item as a regular furnace. This makes the Blast Furnace more time-efficient than regular furnaces while still using the same amount of resources.

The other benefit of using Blast Furnaces is that players can convert ore-based weapons and armor back into ore. More specifically, they can be smelted down into nugget versions of their ore. For example, placing an iron sword, an iron chestplace, or iron horse armor into a Blast Furnace will give players an iron nugget in return.
