There’s plenty of gear to collect in Tomb Raider: Reloaded, even if you don’t spend any real-world money on loot crates and other packs in the store. Most everything you pick up naturally will be of low rarity. Naturally, you’ll want something better, so how do you increase item rarity? Crafting.
How to Craft in Tomb Raider Reloaded to Upgrade Item Rarity

Some of the systems in Tomb Raider: Reloaded are glossed over. Crafting is one of them. Even though the menu is easy to find, I didn’t even know it existed for the first hour or so of the game.
To find the crafting menu, click the Gear tab (backpack icon) at the bottom of the screen. Then click the gold Craft button under the left row of gear options. It’s that simple but easy to overlook in the glut of overwhelming (and typical) mobile game options, alerts, and pop-up screens.
Once in the crafting menu, you’ll see all of your gear, from weapons and supply packs to amulets and ammo types, depending on what you’ve picked up. At the top, you’ll see a workbench with a blueprint and three gray boxes/slots.
You can use the tabs above the item icons and below the gray boxes to select groups of like items, such as weapons or supply packs.
There are four rarity levels in Tomb Raider: Reloaded:
- Common (gray)
- Uncommon (green)
- Rare (blue)
- Epic (purple)
To increase item rarity to the next level, you must combine three of the same items of the same rarity.
For example, 3 common shotguns will craft 1 uncommon shotgun. Three uncommon assault rifles will make 1 rare assault rifle.
You can get more items simply by playing the game and grinding locations, though it’s a relatively slow process getting any three items needed to increase rarity levels.
Of course, that’s why Tomb Raider: Reloaded pushes you to the shop, where you can spend Gems, and real-world money for more Gems, on loot crates that have higher chances of giving you higher rarity gear. Honestly, though, you can get fairly far with the right build and ability rolls to never spend a dime.
Regardless of what you choose to do, that’s how you increase item rarity level through crafting in Tomb Raider: Reloaded.
