Final Fantasy XV was released just two days ago for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, which means that a lot of players are still caught in the throes of their first main series FF adventure in 10 years. But along the quest path, there have been just a few bumps that some players have needed help getting over — and the “Aspiring Artisan” mission is one such snag.
This quest’s objective is to find an amethyst stone. And some players have had a pretty hard time pinning down the exact location. If that sounds like you, then you’ve come to the right place. We’re here to help.
How to Find the Amethyst for the Aspiring Artisan Quest
The first part of completing this quest is easy — just head to the area marked in your map.
But once you get there, you might find that the game won’t give you a pinpointed location — only a blue circle displaying the general area where the amethyst is hiding. So you’ll need to look for it. The only problem is that all the enemies spawning around you and attacking are going to make it much harder.
Clear the area, then look for the amethyst. Contrary to what most players would assume, the amethyst isn’t located anywhere near the center of the blue circle. It’s actually at the edge.
The amethyst stone is located behind a rock close to the Eastern end of the blue circle on your map (with the North pointing towards the left). Upon nearing it, you will see the stone shining in the shade behind the rock. Just pick it up and finish the quest.
That’s all there is to it! Now that you’ve got that pesky quest out of the way, you can get back to your Final Fantasy fishing.
