How to Unlock All Characters in Disney Speedstorm

Disney Speedstorm has 18 characters available now, but as it’s Early Access, that number will likely increase in future updates, especially considering the amount of characters Disney has created for movies and shows. While you can unlock all characters in Disney Speedstorm by playing the game, you can also speed up that process using real money.

Disney Speedstorm Starting Character Roster

There are a few characters that are unlocked for you right away, so you don’t need to do anything special to unlock this set. These characters include:

  • Mickey Mouse
  • Donald Duck
  • Mulan
  • Hercules
  • Captain Jack Sparrow

Characters Unlocked with Shards

While playing Disney Speedstorm, you’ll earn Shards of characters. Ten Character Shards can be used to unlock their depicted character (e.g. 10 Goofy Shards will unlock Goofy), and the Shards are also used to upgrade that character. Shards can be acquired through the following:

  • Golden Pass
  • Season Boxes
  • Special Boxes
  • Universal Boxes
  • Daily Special Offers

Additionally, all the above can be acquired in some manner with the use of Tokens, an in-game currency that you can earn by playing. Characters that can be earned this way are:

  • Baloo
  • Beast
  • Belle
  • Elizabeth Swann
  • Figment
  • Goofy
  • Meg
  • Mowgli
  • Shang

Ultimate Founder’s Pack Characters

The Ultimate Founder’s Pack lets you select a character that you would normally have to earn through Shards at the beginning of the game. You can choose from:

  • Baloo
  • Beast
  • Belle
  • Elizabeth Swann
  • Mowgli
  • Shang

Golden Pass Characters

The Golden Pass is essentially a battle pass for Disney Speedstorm. You can earn experience and levels on it for completing tasks, and you get season-specific rewards in exchange.

Since the current season is for Monsters Inc., you’re able to earn Sully at Level 10 and Mike at Level 15 with the Golden Pass.

Seasonal Boxes

The Seasonal Boxes also give you the chance to get more characters related to the current season aside from those earned through leveling. For the Monsters Inc. season, you can earn Randall and Celia Mae from these boxes.

Universal Boxes

As you play through story mode in Disney Speedstorm, you’ll earn a few Universal Box credits. In the Shop, you can use your Universal Box credits to open boxes with the chance to get shards for every racer and character, including those from past seasons.

Universal Boxes aren’t only opened by earning credits; you can also open them with 10,000 Season Coins, a currency that’s earned with the Golden Pass. If you have a Founder’s Pack, you will receive Golden Pass credits.

At its full launch, Disney Speedstorm will be free-to-play, but it’s possible that you’ll put money into the game to speed up getting more characters or for other content that could be added in the future.

But that’s how to unlock all of the characters in Disney Speedstorm right now. Since Early Access is only available if you purchase a pack, check out our guide for what each Founder’s Pack tier includes.
