Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Best Weapons Tier List

All 13 weapon types are viable in Wo Long. This weapons tier list ranks them from easiest to most difficult to successfully wield.

There are dozens of weapons that drop per level in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The randomized loot system means that all of these drops will have slightly different traits and stats. But, by and large, the melee weapons in Wo Long can be grouped into one of 13 weapon types. Based on these categories, we can determine a best weapons tier list for the game.

Recommended Videos

There are no stat requirements for wielding any of the weapons. You can equip anything from any of the 13 categories of weapons in Wo Long from the get-go. Each of the weapon types is viable once you get to know its specific rhythm and parry timing. That leaves you in a situation where you may find yourself overwhelmed at the start and not knowing what to choose.

So we figured it was best to list these from least to most difficult to master in this tier list of best weapons in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty S-Tier Weapons

Glaive

The Glaive is a fast weapon with a wide reach. It has long animations that make you have to commit more to your actions, but the damage output is well worth it.

Sword

Swords are great balanced starter weapons. The trade-off here is between Spirit Power and attack power. The sword is a bit weaker in the latter category but makes up for it with speed and Spirit Power.

Dual Swords

Dual Swords have the advantage of relentless speed. This will help you gain Spirit quick. The only downside to these is the short reach.

Straight Sabre

The Sabre is a great option. This sword is one of the easiest weapons to use and will allow you to both slash and thrust. The biggest weakness of the Straight Sabre is its ineffectiveness against guarding enemies.

Dual Sabres

Like the Dual Swords, but with even less Spirit consumption and lower attack damage.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty A-Tier Weapons

Spear

Spears have excellent range and high Spirit stats. They are great for one on one encounters, but falter when it comes to multiple enemy fights.

Hoko Spear

The Hoko (or Slashing) Spear is the solution to the Spear’s lack of crowd control. It is well balanced and does solid damage, but it also has some decently long attack animations. This will leave many players vulnerable for long periods of time after combos.

Staff

The Staff is one of the faster weapons. Although it lacks range and damage compared to many of the other options in the game, it can be an excellent close-up option.

Curved Sabre

A Curved Sabre is great for working on deflecting. While the reach and damage output for this weapon category is low, the Curved Sabre has such a high attack speed that its easy to interrupt your combo to deflect at any point. Overall, this is probably the most easy to use of all the weapons, but the stats are nothing remarkable.

Halberd

The Halberd is one of the best weapons for experienced Wo Long players. It has some of the longest attack animations in the game, but if you can master the timing you are rewarded with top tier range, crowd control, and damage.

Dual Halberd

The Dual Halberds are strong, some of the most powerful in the game, but lack the effective range of its single cousin. Still, if you like the Halberd and are willing to sacrifice range for Spirit gain this a solid option.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty B-Tier Weapons

Hammer

The Hammer is extremely slow, but the damage is obviously high in exchange. Still given its low blocking stats and overall difficulty to use, we have to rank it in B-tier.

Poleaxe

The Poleaxe hits hard and slow like the hammer, and is just as tough to use. While the hammer is best used for one-on-one encounters and boss fights, the Poleaxe is better for group fights due to its slashing strike.

That is the full weapons tier list for all Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty weapon types. For more guides and tips on Team Ninja’s latest action game, visit our other Wo Long guides.
