The new Chewy minion in FFXIV is cute as a button. Who wouldn’t want a little black and white Pomeranian to follow them around? Actually getting Chewie minion is about as annoying as you might expect, though. It’s too cute to be easy.
How to Get the Chewy Minion in FFXIV
If you’ve looked at your server’s Market Board and noticed that there are pretty much no Chewy minions listed or that there are a few at ridiculous prices, you know you’re in for a time to get this little bundle of fluffy joy.
At the time of writing, there is only one confirmed way to get your hands on Chewy minion in Final Fantasy XIV: retainer ventures. Not just any retainer ventures, but Level 90 Botanist exploration ventures, specifically Woodland Exploration XXVIII.
Level 90 Botanist exploration ventures are the only confirmed way to get the Chewy minion for now, as full-fledged exploration ventures take 18 hours to complete. Which is exactly why Chewy minion is selling for 15 million gil on Balmung (oof).
Of course, you’ll need to have Botanist to Level 90 yourself, as well as have leveled a retainer to that point to even send them out on these ventures. Newer players probably are not able to, but those that can send their retainers out on Woodland Exploration XXVIII absolutely should to try to get their hands on Chewy for their personal collection or to rake in a hefty chunk of change.
There are some rumors that maxed out submarine expeditions also have a chance to grant Chewy minion, but this is unconfirmed and incredibly difficult to confirm in the patch’s infancy due to the amount of time expeditions take.
