How to Find Legendary Weapons in Dead Island 2

Dead Island 2 Legendary weapons differ from most other types of weapons in the game due to two factors:

  • The number of mods or perks they have.
  • How they’re acquired.

Further, you’ll get the Variety is the Spice of Death trophy/achievement for finding your first Legendary weapon.

Legendary Weapon Mods and Perks Explained

Superior weapons (red) are a dime a dozen in the later stages of the Dead Island 2 campaign. They tend to have one mod slot, three perk slots, and one fixed perk slot.

Legendary weapons (orange), meanwhile, are much harder to find and have one mod slot, two perk slots, and two fixed perk slots. The mod slot has the Legendary/Superior variant, which means it has a stronger effect, and one of the fixed perks is a Legendary variant that’s unique to that weapon.

Dead Island 2 Legendary Weapons List

As you progress in the campaign, you’ll receive many Rare and Superior weapons. However, the Legendary weapons in Dead Island 2 tend to be obtained much later, usually once you’re done with the story and enter free-roam mode. This opens up additional sidequests and Lost and Found quests.

In any case, here’s where to find each Legendary weapon, as well as a longer guide with more information should you need it.

  • Emma’s Wrath: Complete the Dead Island 2 campaign for this Legendary weapon.
  • Blood Rage: Complete the Fool’s Gold Lost and Found quest at the Santa Monica Pier.
  • Bodycount: Complete the Redacted Lost and Found quest in Venice Beach.
  • Big Shot: Complete the It’s Not Your Fault quest in Bel Air.
  • Party Starter: Complete the Drunk and Disorderly quest in Ocean Avenue.
  • Krakatoa: Complete Missing: Steve, a Missing Persons Quest.
  • Optional: The Clean and Snatch: This quest rewards you with a Rare weapon, not a Legendary. However, it does help you learn about what you can expect from Lost and Found style quests.

In any case, these are the Dead Island 2 Legendary weapons that we’ve found so far. We’ll continue updating this article if we find more, so stay tuned. Likewise, for everything else about the game, you can visit our other Dead Island 2 guides page.
