So, if you’re looking to play with your friends, you might be wondering: How many players can I use per ship in Sea of Thieves?

Sea of Thieves: How Many Players Can You Have Per Ship

The Sloop (1-2 Players)

The Sloop is the smallest ship in the game. It’s meant for two players, but you can sail it solo with some quick footwork. Because of its small size, the Sloop is the fastest and most maneuverable ship in the game.

However, since it is the smallest ship, it has weak defenses and won’t be able to deal much damage. So, if you encounter a larger ship, you’ll have to use the ship’s speed and maneuverability to dodge cannon fire and escape the battle.

The Brigantine (2-3)

The Brigantine is the medium-sized ship of the trio from which you can choose. It’s meant to be sailed by a crew of two to three people. This means that one player will steer the ship, another will focus on repairs, and a dedicated person will fight or help with other tasks.

Since the Brigantine is bigger than the Sloop, it can hold its own in a battle. It can take a few rounds of cannon fire and deal quite a bit of damage. Although it’s not as fast as its smaller counterpart, it can make a quick getaway if needed. The biggest upside to the Brigantine is that you can hold much more treasure.

If you’re an experienced sailor, you can sail this ship yourself. However, if you are in a battle with another ship, your best bet is to run away. You should not use this ship solo for PVP battles. However, you should be fine if you have a crew of two.

The Galleon (3-4)

The Galleon is the largest ship in the game, supporting a crew of up to four players. This means you can have a player dedicated to each position on the ship. Although it’s the least maneuverable, it makes up for it with its impressive fighting capabilities. It has the most cannons on any ship, and with a few accurate volleys of cannon fire, it can take down a Sloop or even a Brigantine.

It also has the best defense of the trio of ships. Since you’ll have a larger crew, repairs will be more efficient when necessary. However, as mentioned before, it has the worst maneuverability, and Sloops can quickly get away from you in the right conditions.

That’s how many players can be in each ship in Sea of Thieves. If you’re looking for more tips and tricks, check out our dedicated Sea of Thieves guides hub.
