Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Check the Weather

You need a TV and a good sense of time to catch the day's weather reports in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Most of the furniture in Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be interacted with in some way, whether just turning an appliance on or playing an instrument for fun. Some pieces of furniture are more useful than others, though — and the TV is one of the most useful because it can help you check the weather.

At key times turning the day, televisions across your island will report the weather either for that day or the next day. This gives you an opportunity to plan and prepare for some rainy weather fishing by getting some bait crafted, or it will just give you an idea of what’s to come.

Some New Horizons players may not find being able to check the weather useful, but I’ve found it to be a helpful aid for deciding when to bother stocking up on fish bait and planning play events for my little sister. You may have your uses for it, too!

How to Check the Weather in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The TV schedule in New Horizons is not exactly the same day to day, but it is the same each week.

When you watch the morning weather reports, they will show what the weather will be for later in the day.

When you watch the afternoon and evening weather reports, they will show what the weather will be for the next day.

Morning Weather Report Schedule
  • 6:15 a.m. to 6:29 a.m. (Seven days a week)
  • 7:45 a.m. to 7:48 a.m. (Six days a week, excluding Sunday)
  • 11:45 a.m. to 11:59 a.m. (Seven days a week)
Afternoon and Evening Weather Report Schedule
  • 6:30 p.m. to 6:44 p.m. (Five days a week, excluding Saturday and Sunday)
  • 6:45 p.m. to 6:59 p.m. (Six days a week, excluding Sunday)
  • 10:45 p.m. to 10:59 p.m. (Seven days a week)

Hopefully, this knowledge helps you with your Animal Crossing life planning, as it’s helped me. I’ve got a TV set up in my house as well as in an open neighborhood cafe for easy viewing, since I’m forgetful.
