The Prehistoric Kelp Forest world in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is relatively linear and straightforward. To boot, it doesn’t have too many collectibles. Unfortunately, the ones that are here can be a little tough to track down — especially those pesky gold coins. Here’s where to find all of them.
Where to Find All Prehistoric Kelp Forest Gold Coins in The Cosmic Shake
There are only 4 gold coins in this world, many less than all the other stages in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. You won’t be able to find them your first time through, so wait to tackle the Prehistoric Kelp Forest one more time before searching for these goodies.

In the lava river section, there is a log floating in the lava. You can jump down from a higher platform to a small wooden platform. From there, turn to get inside the log, where a purple switch with a bubble surfboard challenge awaits. Complete it to get your gold coin.

You’ll find a purple button in the Sleeping Dorudon area. This will spawn a reef blower and hoops you need to glide through. As you glide, you’ll want to drop down onto two platforms that you can now reach. There are two enemies on each platform to suck up.
Each platform has a bounce pad that will allow you to easily go back into the rings and get the next one, eventually taking you full circle to where you need to shoot the goo blocking the gold coin.

During the Volcano Slide, look for a bounce pad. It will come up to your right near the end of the segment. You must be pressing forward and going max speed off the ramp to hit this jump. It’s tough, but if you die, you’ll go back to a checkpoint right before, so it’s super easy to just keep retrying. Once you do it successfully, the bounce will send you up to an alternate path, leading you right to another gold coin.

This last coin can be found in the Cave Painting cave. There is a chain in front of a pillar of coral to the right of the puzzle. Look behind here to find the Gold Coin.
