Where to Find the Ancient Blade in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The TotK Ancient Blade is an extremely rare item. I played for over 120 hours before finding only one in the game, and even then, I couldn’t remember exactly where I got it. In short, the Tears of the Kingdom Ancient Blade can be hard to find.

Thankfully, there’s a guaranteed method for finding the Ancient Blade bit later in the campaign. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Complete the Regional Phenomena main quests.
  • You’ll then be asked to head to Hyrule Castle.
  • After beating the boss there (or, rather, after getting trounced), the group decides they need more help.
  • This is when you get The Fifth Sage main quest.

Finish The Fifth Sage quest, and once you’re done, you’ll be in an ancient Zonai facility in the Depths. There’s a Construct there that will act as a vendor NPC It’s where you’ll get Ancient Blade items. However, note that each one costs 50 Zonaite. Because of this, we suggest delving into the Depths to mine Zonaite ores from various locations.

How to Use the Tears of the Kingdom Ancient Blade

So, how exactly do you use the TotK Ancient Blade? Well, you don’t want to bother with it as a Fuse option. Instead, you’ll want to aim with your bow and select it as an arrow attachment.

The Ancient Blade itself has 50 Fuse Attack, which is pretty good. However, its sheer strength also means that it can disintegrate strong enemies. For instance, it’s what I used when I had to fight five Lynels back to back. When I had to go up against an Armored Silver Lynel, I decided to use an Ancient Blade to finish the battle.

That’s how to get The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Ancient Blade, just one of many items that you can find during your travels. For more on Hyrule, visit our Zelda TotK guides hub.
