Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) — Shape Rotation Shrine Guide

The Shape Rotation Puzzle in Jiosin Shrine can be a little tricky. Here's how to do it.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Shape Rotation puzzle is located in the Jiosin Shrine. You’ll be making liberal use of the Ultrahand and Ascend to solve this shrine. It pays to be comfortable with both abilities before you enter. Here’s how to solve the Jiosin Shrine Shape Rotation Puzzle in TotK.

Shrine Location

This Shrine is located in the southernmost part of Central Hyrule, directly south of Lookout Landing. It’s also directly east of the Susuyai Shrine. If you’re using map coordinates, you’ll find it at (-240, -0375, 0026).

TotK Jiosin Shrine Shape Rotation Puzzle Walkthrough

The Shape Rotation puzzle is divided into several steps. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Head through the door to the left. Use the Ultrahand to pick up the object from behind and move it through the X-shaped hole. You do not need to rotate it.
  • Rotate the object until the two flat sections at each end are horizontal. You can do this by rotating it up twice, right once, and up twice again. Then place it across the gap to make a bridge.  Cross the bridge.

  • Go into the room to your right. Pick up the object from behind with the Ultrahand. Rotate it up twice and left twice, and then slide it through the hole.

Shape Rotation Jiosin Shrine Optional Chest

  • Place it on the ground outside the room you got it from. If you look to your right from that room, you’ll see a chest high on some raised platforms.
  • Pick up the object from the back (the end with the square that is “higher” up). Rotate it up three time and left twice, the place it in the square-shaped hole in front of you.

  • Walk under the higher stone square and use Ascend to get to the top of it. From there, you should be able to jump to the chest, which rewards a Hasty Elixir.

  • Pick the object up again and rotate it until it fits through the hole to the left. This can be a bit tricky, but keep at it.

  • Drop it off in the room and enter it. Rotate the object again until it makes a set of stairs (see screenshot) and then climb them. You can also use the Ascend trick we used earlier if you would rather keep the object vertical.
  • Climb up your makeshift stairs, or Ascend to the top of the object, and head to the platform to claim your reward!
