The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Frox is a type of miniboss that you can fight while exploring various regions throughout the game. How to Beat a Frox in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The TotK Frox boss is a giant frog monster with one eye. It tends to have lairs in various zones, though most variants are in the Depths. Assuming you’re following normal progression, one of the earliest times you’ll get to battle a Frox is when you’re doing the Master Kohga-related main quests in the Depths.
In the first portion, you’ll have to follow the direction that statues are facing so you can reach a particular area. Along the way, you’ll spot a Frog just lumbering around.
TotK Frox Weaknesses and Attacks
The primary weakness for a Tears of the Kingdom Frox is its eye. A single arrow shot will stun it. However, there are a couple of abilities that you want to take note of.
- The first is Inhale-lacious, where the Frox will attempt to pull you into its mouth. This is a deadly attack since it will deplete a lot of hearts. You can, however, use obstacles, such as pillars, to block your path.
- The second Frox attack is the Froggy Leap, which is just a huge leaping attack. It will probably kill you early in TotK, so don’t get hit.
How to Cheese the Tears of the Kingdom Frox Boss
Thankfully, there’s also a way to cheese Frox bosses. The statues I mentioned earlier offer you protection from the inhalation ability since they prevent you from getting sucked into its mouth. Moreover, Frox can sometimes get stuck in the model, though the Froggy Leap can still damage you if you’re too close.
Ideally, though, you’ll want to wait on top of a statue until you can land a clear shot with an arrow to its eye. Once stunned, you’ll notice several stones on the back of the Frox. You can either melee them or continue shooting them with arrows. It’s even possible to attach a Bomb Flower to an arrow for AoE damage. Just continue the process, and you’ll eliminate a Frox boss in no time.
That’s how you beat a Frox in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Just aim for its eye, stun it, and strike the rock protrusions on its back until it dies. Once you defeat a TotK Frox, you’ll obtain some materials, including Frox Guts, Frox Fangs, and Frox Fingernails.
