Hogwarts Legacy: How to Unlock Talents

Wondering how to unlock talents to upgrade your character in Hogwarts Legacy? Well look no further.

Like any RPG, Hogwarts Legacy utilizes a system of character upgrades, in this case, they're called talents. And whether you're looking to make your character the cruelest among Dark Arts users or spend most of your time in the Room of Requirements, you'll need to know how to unlock talents.

Hogwarts Legacy Talents Explained

Talents are upgrades to potions, spells, health, and many other passive traits. Unlocking talents means playing through the main story of Hogwarts Legacy until you complete the 15th quest in the story, titled "Jacdaw's Rest". It is available after completing "The Hunt for the Missing Pages".

During Jacdaw's Rest", the Talents page will unlock automatically.

Talents can be upgraded by spending talent points. Talent points are earned naturally as you play through the game. Once you hit Level 5, every level afterward will confer 1 talent point. Be careful, however: you cannot respec talent progressions. Once the points are spent, they are gone.

It's worth noting that not every talent can be unlocked in a single playthrough of Hogwarts Legacy.

Certain spells, such as the unforgivable curses, are unlocked through various quests. You'll be required to cast these spells before being able to acquire and upgrade them. Other prerequisites are for leveled masteries, such as needing Sense of Secrecy 1 before being able to unlock Sense of Secrecy 2.

With that, you now know how to unlock talents in Hogwarts Legacy, which is a relatively straightforward process. Head over to our full talents list to see them all, or over to our guides hub for more tips.
