Despite its technical simplicity and limited money-making potential, playing a Fisher in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is still an enjoyable experiences for those who like to take things more slowly.

Chugging through my levels fishing, I would sometimes find myself wondering where I could get the tackle for the next level tier. The game doesn’t make it easy to find fishing holes, and similarly it can be tricky to hunt down lures and bait of the appropriate level and water (or air or sand) type on your fishing travels.
I don’t want to list out fishing spots and all of that, because part of what’s great about being a Fisher is the adventure of finding hidden little fishing holes spattered about Eorzea. That said, I do recommend that you find a fishing-dedicated link shell on your server to talk with with fellow Fishers. Most of the people who take the time to fish for extended periods are nice and patient, and a talkative link shell is a great way to keep on track while toiling the hours away.
What can be seen below is a list of tackle, the type of water they are used for, and how you obtain them. Most often tackle can be found at Merchant & Mender NPCs, but it’s better to have it all listed out than to teleport all over the place looking for some level-appropriate bait.
