The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is known for its spectacular secrets, and that has been recreated in Hogwarts Legacy. One of the first secrets you can come across just walking around the school is an environmental bridge puzzle. From its requirements to its rewards, here’s the complete Hogwarts Legacy Viaduct bridge puzzle solution.
Where is the Hogwarts Legacy Bridge Puzzle?

The bridge puzzle is located in the Viaduct Courtyard. If you’re not keeping a close eye on your surroundings, you might just walk past this one while exploring. This puzzle spans the entire bridge, although you’ll want to head there from The Library Annex side and not The Great Hall. The bridge puzzle’s location relative to the map can be seen above.
How to Solve the Viaduct Courtyard Bridge Puzzle

To solve this puzzle, you’ll need to set a few things on fire, and that means you’ll need to know the Incendio spell. While the spell does technically come from the Professor Hecat’s Assignment I side quest, that side quest is vital for the main questline, so you’ll automatically learn the spell pretty soon after your first trip to Hogsmeade.
At the bridge puzzle, you’ll notice a circular mechanical plaque when approaching the bridge from The Library Annex. It shows a group of symbols that alight with an outer ring of roman numerals.
The secret to solving the Hogwarts Legacy bridge puzzle is to remember which symbol on the initial circle on the ground is associated with each number.

If you look each side of the bridge, you’ll notice four torches, two on each side at both ends. Go to the only lit torch on the right, and you’ll be able to interact with it. Doing so will rotate it and show a different number with each turn.
Since this is the symbol with a line going through two circles, you’ll need to rotate the torch until it is displaying II.

Turn around to the torch facing it. Interacting with this torch doesn’t work at first because it’s unlit. Use Incendio on it to unlock the mechanism, and then rotate until you see IV.

Run across the bridge and repeat the process two more times. The torch on the right needs to be lit and then rotated to display III, while the one on the left should be lit and rotated to display I.

What are the Bridge Puzzle Rewards?
A short cutscene of the mechanical plaque opening plays once you’ve completed all these steps. Head back over and you’ll be able to climb down to a hidden walkway below the bridge.
There are two small chests of loot to be found, but more importantly, a large chest all the way at the end contains a random piece of Legendary gear. Solving this also counts towards completing the Hogwarts Secrets Challenge.
