Wildstar PvP Guide: Halls of the Bloodsworn Battleground

Need to know how the battleground, Halls of the Bloodsworn works in WildStar? Then, check out this basic guide to get you started!

I’m not going to lie, when I first played Halls of the Bloodsworn in WildStar, I didn’t really know what I was doing. It isn’t as easy to follow as Walatiki Temple. I understood how it works over time and now I’m doing this basic guide to save some of you the confusion I once experienced.

It is as chaotic as you’d expect from PvP in this game, even more so than the first battleground. Don’t worry though, I’ll explain the object of the game as well as some tips to give you an edge in battle. Strap on your seatbelt, cupcake, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!

Disclaimer: Everything we’ve done so far was during open beta, so some things could change at or after launch. We’ll be sure to update constantly to keep up with the current state of the game.

This guide will cover everything about the Halls of the Bloodsworn Battleground including:

  • Halls of the Bloodsworn Mechanics – The object of the game and how to win.
  • Battle Tips – Tips on attacking and defending in this battleground.

Halls of the Bloodsworn Mechanics

The object of this game is capturing and defending points. There are 3 total: The Crucible of Blood, The Chamber of the Great Dark, and The Court of Judges.

It isn’t your simple capture and defend a base though.

  • You have a primary control point in the middle, and two secondary control points on the sides.
  • You don’t need to capture the secondary control points but it makes it easier/faster to capture the base.

You win if you capture more bases than the enemy team. If you , or the enemy, captures all of them, the winning team is the one that captures them all the fastest.

Primary control point.

Battle Tips

It is important to know what’s going on at each control point and plan your attack/defense accordingly.

Attacking

In my opinion, attacking is much easier than defending in Halls of the Bloodsworn. Usually it is a safe bet to just go middle to capture the bases.

  • Always send at least a few people on the sides to take some of the enemy away from the middle.
  • Taking the optional points is a very good strategy, especially if your team has coordination.
  • Scope out the enemy team, watch where their defending the most and send a few good players to their weak spots.
  • Keeping pressure on the defending team makes it easier to capture the points and win the game.

Distraction goes a long way in this game. If you can lure the enemy away from points to try to kill you, the rest of your team can take the points more easily.

Defending

From my experience, defending is a lot harder. Your team has to be on top of their game and constantly looking out for the enemy.

  • Always defend side points. You don’t need most of your team on the optional control points, but if you let the enemy capture them, you might as well roll over and let them win.
  • Don’t forget the main middle point. Sometimes people get so caught up in defending optional points, they forget the big one in the middle.
  • Watch where the enemy goes. This is very important, especially on defense. There is no best way to defend. You have to defend based on where the enemy goes.

There are jump pads around this battleground that gets you to points quicker, use them! Also, when a base gets captured while you’re on defense, a button will appear in the middle of your screen. Use this button to instantly teleport to the next base you’re defending.
