To get more into the gritty details of the Ultimate Update, it provides both games with improvements across the board, like restored enemy texture models (so they now look like their original console counterparts), various bug fixes, and improved graphical and visual fidelity.

Michael Devine, SVP of Business Development for Ziggurat said that the team has been hard at work to make these PC versions stand alongside the games that launched back in 2002 and 2004, respectively.

He said in a release that "[Ziggurat Interactive have] continued to make improvements fans have been asking for, and we're excited to launch what we know are the best versions yet of the original games."

BloodRayne: Terminal Cut and BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut are currently available on GOG and Steam for PC.

Speaking further about the release of the enhanced edition, Ziggurat Interactive's President Wade Rosen said:

The response was tremendous when we announced that we had taken over stewardship of the BloodRayne series. Fans have been asking what’s next for the series, and now we're excited to show off the great work that's been done by Terminal Reality on the first two titles.

Whether this leads to the development of any new entries in the BloodRayne series remains to be seen. The last installment in the franchise, BloodRayne: Betrayal, released in 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. A 2D side-scroller, it was a departure for the series that garnered mixed reviews.
