Top 5 Things to do in Goat Simulator

Explosions, jetpacks, baseballs, skating, the possibilities are endless in Goat Simulator!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on Goat Simulator yesterday, and after running around causing havoc, I decided it was time to share my five favorite things in the game so far.

1. Find the Pitching Machine and Hit Things With Baseballs

In Goat Simulator, you run around hitting things with your head, causing them to launch across the screen at great distances.  You can also pick up a pitching machine and pelt things with baseballs, giving your head a rest.

After you first spawn, take a look to your left.  You’ll first see a “secret tunnel” with what looks like a ramp on it, but in the background you’ll find a tall fence with a metal X on it.  If you walk around that fence you will find an opening, and after going inside you will see the pitching machine.  Walk on top of it to have it added to your back, then run around spamming the R key to shoot baseballs at everything you see!

2. Blow Up A Gas Station

Destruction and fire?  Sign me up!  Early on in the game, you come to realize that you can destroy pretty much anything by slamming your head into it.  Armed with this knowledge, when I found the gas station, my face quickly displayed a Cheshire grin and I quickly went to work.

3. Find a Jetpack!

After blowing up the gas station, you should look around and find a tall crane, next to a building that is still under construction.  The building has several ladders to climb and once you do, the jetpack is all yours!  Walk over it like you do with the pitching machine and it attaches to your back–you can activate it with R.

Be careful with the jetpack, as using it is nearly uncontrollable.  I find short bursts outside are fun, and going into a home with lots of stuff and just turning it on for maximum carnage can be entertaining for hours.

4. Try Your Hand At Ragdoll Skate

If you take a look at the screen shot above, you’ll see the gas station in the bottom right and a big, white building in the top left.  There is a fence between them, but its possible to get over it with the jetpack, jumping on boxes, getting hit by a car, etc.  There are a few places on the building with board that you can break with your head and inside is Ragdoll Skate!

Hitting Q on your keyboard will make your goat go completely limp, allowing him to fly through the air when hit or bounce off of walls, just like a ragdoll.  The great thing about ragdoll skate is that while you are on the blue surface, you’ll continue to gain speed allowing you to launch into the air and back down.  Tony Hawk just can’t compare to this goats sweet moves.

5. Play Flappy Goat

And just when you thought you were finished with all things flappy.  Inside the Coffee Studios building, on the second floor, you’ll find an indestructible television and when you get close to it, Flappy Goat appears on the screen!

Flappy Goat

The game plays exactly like Flappy Bird, except instead of a bird you are a cross between a goat and nyan cat.  Pressing R will allow you to flap (and if you have the jet pack on, will also activate it!).  If you manage to get through 10 colorful ladders, you’ll unlock an achievement.  Despite having a score of 149 in Flappy Bird, I’ve only managed a score of 6 in Flappy Goat!

There you have it, my 5 favorite things so far.  What are YOUR favorite things in Goat Simulator?
