Destiny 2 Lightfall: How to Complete Nock, Draw, Loose, the Quiet Exotic Catalyst Quest

Learn how to complete Nock, Draw, Loose, Quiet and unlock the Exotic Catalyst to the new Verglas Curve Stasis bow.

You’ll get the Catalyst Quest, “Nock, Draw, Loose, Quiet,” from Banshee-44 after you pull Verglas Curve from the Season Pass in Destiny 2. The Verglas Curve is a Stasis Bow that can fire up to give arrows that explode into Stasis Crystals. It’s pretty nice, but what makes it even better is its Exotic Catalyst that increases its draw time whenever you freeze an enemy with its arrows.

The “Nock, Draw, Loose, Quiet” quest is three steps long and one of the easier Seasonal Exotic Catalyst quests to complete. Being easy doesn’t mean it’s short, however. Expect to do lots of Vanguard Ops activities and Gambit and Crucible matches. You don’t need to worry about those for the first step, but they become a major issue in the second step. Here’s everything you need to do.

Nock, Draw, Loose, Quiet Step 1

This first step is easy enough. You have two tasks.

  • Rapidly defeat 20 targets. In other words, you need to defeat enemies in groups at a time. Using something like a Grenade or Rocket Launcher is excellent for this part.
  • Defeat 40 enemies with Stasis damage. Another simple ask: equip your favorite Stasis setup and run a Strike, participate in a Terminal Overload, or any other activity with high enemy density. You can also play with a fireteam or randoms using Stasis, and as long as you help them get the kill, it can count.

Nock, Draw, Loose, Quiet Step 2

Here comes the grind. This step will take you at least a dozen hours, even if you have seasonal XP boosts. We’ll discuss why below.

  • Collect Calibration data. You get Calibration data by completing Vanguard Ops, Gambit, and Crucible matches. You need 200 total data points; without any XP boosts, a single Strike gives a whopping two. While it’s not as bad as it once was, you’ll still be doing almost 100 activities to fill the progress bar. Thankfully, once you have the Catalyst quest, there’s no time limit. You get more progress from Gambit/PvP wins and higher-tier Nightfall completions.
  • Defeat 450 enemies with the Verglas Curve. It’s a lot, but you can get additional progress by defeating Guardians.

Nock, Draw, Loose, Quiet Step 3

All you need to do here is return to Banshee-44. He’ll give you the calibrated Catalyst.

To actually use the Verglas Curve Catalyst, you have to defeat another 700 enemies, and Guardians do not give you any extra progress. There are two Seasonal Exotic Catalyst progress buffs at levels 11 and 22, but only on the paid version of the Season Pass. These speed up the process a little bit, but it’s still a huge grind.

Do all of that, and you’ll have the Verglas Curve Catalyst, though you may not want to use the weapon again. Alternately, you’ll want to use nothing else to spite the monotony of it all. If you’re looking for more Exotic and Catalyst guides, we’ve covered quite a few, including the Gjallarhorn, Vex Mythoclast, and Quicksilver Storm. Our Destiny 2 guides hub has even more.
