Those of us who have played Genshin Impact and other HoYoverse games know that the developer usually shies away from PvP multiplayer. But is that the case with their new gacha game, Honkai Star Rail? Not exactly. Here’s what we know about HSR PvP.
Is There PvP in Honkai Star Rail?
No, Honkai Star Rail doesn’t have PvP at release. From our research, there’s been no word on if it will be added in the future, either.
While there have been some discussions within the community regarding the absence of PvP from HoYoverse games, player-versus-player modes require a lot of balancing and work, with developers needing to pay close attention to character abilities and stats to keep matches as fair as possible.
Though, to be fair, other gacha games like Tower of Fantasy have pulled it off.
Unlike Genshin Impact, you won’t be able to play co-op multiplayer with friends in Honkai: Star Rail, either, but you’ll be able to send support characters to help your friends and earn rewards in return.
Honkai: Star Rail is the fourth entry to the Honkai series, so you’ll be able to see familiar characters if you’ve played previous titles like Honkai Impact 3rd. However, there will be plenty of new characters as well as you set off on a fantasy journey in space.
That’s what we know about Honkai Star Rail PvP. This information could change in the future, and if it does, we’ll update this article to reflect any changes HoYoverse might make.
