S-Tier Armor

Carapace Armor

  • Armor: 96
  • Weight: 23

Carapace set has the highest armor value in Valheim as of the Mistlands update. Although it is considered a heavy armor, it is actually much lighter than most other heavy armors in the game.

It has no special bonuses and it slows your movement by 10%. But nothing can beat almost a 100% physical defense of the Carapace armor, which is why it is currently the top-tier set in Valheim.

Here is the brand-new armor set designed specifically for staff wielders. It provides players with a 100% Eitr regeneration, which is perfect for magic builds.

It also has high resistance against Frost damage, as well as provides players with the Feather Fall effect, which completely negates fall damage. It is also an extremely light armor in itself!

  • Armor: 79
  • Weight: 27

Prior to the introduction of the Mistlands update, Padded Armor had been the highest rated armor in the game, but now it has been dethroned.

It is slightly heavier than Carapace armor and provides less defense, but is still considered a very solid armor that protects against physical damage. Just like Carapace armor, it has no bonuses and it slows you down by 10%.

Wolf Armor

  • Armor: 61
  • Weight: 37

If you’re more interested in Frost resistance than in having a higher rate of physical defense, then Wolf armor would be preferable to Padded armor.

It has the same 10% movement speed penalty, and it is a lot heavier in general. Also note that Frost resistance effect doesn’t stack with Mead or Yagluth power.
