Gold crates give many LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga players trouble because not every character can break them open. Being able to break open gold crates is important, though, because they contain worthwhile rewards.

How to Break Open Gold Crates in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Gold crates can only be smashed open with characters from the Bounty Hunter class. It doesn’t matter which character you use, whether it be Jango Fett or Greedo, Bossk or Zam Wessel. All that matter is that the character is a Bounty Hunter. With the proper character selected, aim at the center, then fire your weapon.
You’ll be greeted by a circular meter that slowly fills as you continue toshoot. If you stop shooting, the meter depletes, forcing you to start over. Simply hold the firing trigger down; gold crates break open once the meter has been completely filled. They often hide a Kyber Brick inside.
It’s worth noting that these gold crates are sometimes finicky. It isn’t just a matter of aiming at the center. You sometimes need to be at the proper distance or angle in order for the game to register your attempts at shooting it open.
These parameters are sometimes inconsistent, but shouldn’t take too much time to get accustomed to. After enough fidgeting and aiming, you’ll be able to shoot open every gold crate you see.
