Fortnite Guide: How to Complete the Pool, Windmill, Umbrella Challenge

Completing this hard location challenge gets you 10 battle stars in Fortnite's Battle Royale Season 3!

A whole new system of progression just arrived with Fortnite’s Season 3, as a batch of new challenges arrive every week to test your Battle Royale skills.

More than just getting kills with specific weapon types (although those challenges are there as well), many of these weekly challenges will test your knowledge of the map layout and force you to explore areas you’d normally ignore.

One of the strangest challenges to arrive in Week 2 of Battle Royale Season 3 taks you with “searching between a Pool, Windmill and an Umbrella,” which doesn’t really tell you much.

You are looking for an object to collect in a specific location based solely on landmarks that aren’t well marked. This hard-level challenge nets you 10 Battle Stars if you figure it out, though!

Below, we walk you through the entire process of completing the pool, windmill, and umbrella challenge. Wondering where to find the forbidden dancing sign locations for this week’s other bizarre challenge instead? Check out our full guide to dancing like a madman (and hopefully not getting shot in the process) right here.

How to Find The Fortnite Pool, Windmill, Umbrella Location

You could spend hours combing the map trying to figure out just exactly which pool, which windmill, and which umbrella-shaped landmark the developers are referring to, but where’s the fun in that? Since you’ll spend most of the match trying not to get gunned down immediately, it’s easier to just go straight to the source.

The location you are looking for is just a bit west and slightly north of the Anarchy Acres barns, situated on a hilltop with a tree looking back towards Anarchy Acres.

The gold shield coin you need to interact with to complete the challenge won’t be visible from a distance though — it only spawns when you run close by, so you have to actually go to the very specific location to grab it. If you are using the grid map for reference, it is at the bottom of square E2 (see the red circle in the map below for a clearer image of where to land).

The battle bus may not come from this direction though, making it harder to get on your first try. If you started at a different corner of the map, you can usually get here pretty quick by jumping off around Tomato Town.

When you do finally arrive, be on the lookout for other players! Because everyone is just figuring out where the locations for these new weekly challenges are positioned, it is very likely there will be a bunch of other homicidal players who immediately land at this same spot.

Depending on where you landed, it may be a better (and safer) strategy to run over here later in the match as the storm is just expanding, as it is much less likely the area will have five or six other players standing on the hill.

For those looking to take advantage of the challenge system to rack up kills, grabbing a gold chest in any of the Anarchy Acre barns and then hiding there and waiting to snipe anyone on the hill top is a very solid strategy, especially if you land before anyone else.
