Hogwarts Legacy: How to Get Crucio

Here's how to learn Crucio in Hogwarts Legacy, an unforgivable curse.

Hogwarts Legacy not only has the Dark Arts but allows players to use the unforgivable curses without negative consequences. One of these is the second unforgivable curse, the Cruciatus Curse or Crucio. Here's how to get Crucio, because you know you want it.

In the Harry Potter universe, the Cruciatus Curse causes unimaginable pain described by Harry Potter as "one thousand white-hot knives, boring into the skin". It was employed by Bellatrix Lestrange to torture Neville Longbottom's parents into insanity. Voldemort widely used it on his underlings who angered him as well as on Harry in the fourth book, Goblet of Fire

In game, Crucio is a powerful spell that allows the player to inflict damage over time on a target. When the talent Crucio Mastery is upgraded, casting Crucio will also send a projectile to a nearby target.

In order to obtain Crucio, players must complete quests for Slytherin student Sebastian Swallow. Sebastian's quest line eventually unlocks all three unforgivable curses.

The quest that specifically unlocks Crucio is "In the Shadow of the Study." As part of the questline the player has to open a door to either have Crucio cast on them or cast it themselves. From that point on you will be able to cast Crucio at whim.

As one of the unforgivable curses, Crucio is extremely powerful. Any player looking to battle in the Dark Arts Arena or travel down the path of a Dark Wizard definitely needs to know how to get it in Hogwarts Legacy.
