How to Ride a Llama in Minecraft

Llamas are similar to horses, meaning that you can ride them and decorate them. However, horse saddles and armor won’t work as a decoration, so you need to use carpets instead.

In order to tame a llama, walk up to it and start pressing the right mouse button — just like with the horses. In a few clicks the llama of your choice will show affection to you by generating hearts.

Now, you will be able to ride your llama and equip it with a chest to keep your items inside. But you need to consider that llamas can have varying strengths, meaning that different llamas will be able to carry different amounts of items.

Here is the breakdown for each point of strength:

  • llama with a strength of 1 – will carry 3 slots
  • llama with a strength of 2 – will carry 6 slots
  • llama with a strength of 3 – will carry 9 slots
  • llama with a strength of 4 – will carry 12 slots
  • llama with a strength of 5 – will carry 15 slots

Unfortunately, you cannot ride and control a llama at the same time. However, you can attach a lead to it and make it follow you.

It is important to note that once you attach a lead to one of the llamas the rest of the herd will follow. This will form a caravan, and when you put a lead on another llama, a second caravan will form, and so on.

It is a good idea to keep your llamas together, as they will be more likely to survive during the encounters with hostile mobs by using their spit attacks.

First, you need to make sure that you have two tamed llamas. You can put leads on them and keep them together.

What do llamas eat? Use a hay bale for them to start mating. If you don’t have a hay bale, then find nine pieces of wheat to be able to craft one block of hay.

As soon as you show your llamas the hay bale, you will notice hearts appearing between them, meaning that the baby llama is coming soon. In just a moment you will see a baby llama spawning near its parents.

In this simple way you can create an entire llama farm.
