How to Find the Trove Guardian in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

Step 3 of Destiny 2's Luna's Calling quest sees you discovering a new journal of Toland, the Shattered. Your first step is finding the location of the Trove Guardian enemy, a yellow-bar Knight, who appears in one of three places on the Moon.

This guide shows you where each spawn location is as well as what you'll need to do to progress the memory pursuit to its next step.

Trove Guardian Locations

You can find the Trove Guardian in one of three places: Archer's Line, the Hellmouth, or the Anchor Light. Where he spawns appears to rotate weekly; as in my investigations for this piece, I found him solely at Archer's Line. However, he appeared at the other two locations as well, which I've noted below.

Archer's Line Location

You'll run across the Archer's Line Trove Guardian near the entrance if you're coming from Sanctuary. He's tucked behind a small dome in the bottom corner of the area. If you follow the large causeway running the length of Archer's Line back toward the entrance, you should see him on your right.

Hellmouth Location

In the Hellmouth, head towards the structure at the northernmost point on the map. If you're coming from the Anchor of Light, head straight through, and if you're coming from Archer's Line, head right up to said structure. You should see the Trove Guardian near the Witch's Ritual public event area.

Anchor of Light Location

You'll find the Anchor of Light Trove Guardian located to the west of the Fallen Ketch (the big ship). He'll be walking along the wall and in the open area near the entrance from Sanctuary, so hang around that area and he should appear if he's due to spawn at Anchor of Light.

The Jumping "Puzzle"

Once you've killed the guardian, you'll receive a message above your abilities bar about the way being clear or something similar. At this point, head to a nearby ledge to activate the small jumping section of the quest. 

You'll need to head to the end of each platform that appears and listen for the next one to spawn in. They won't always be in front of you, so if you don't see them, look around a little bit. 

Eventually, you'll come across a chest — also marked on your HUD — and once opened, you'll receive the Toland, the Shattered's Notes quest item.
