All Moogle Mischief Locations in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Looking for moogles to chase in Final Fanatsy 7 Rebirth? Here's where to find all the Moogle Mischief Mogstools.

It would be a Final Fantasy game without Moogles, and in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, one of the world activities is taking part in Moogle Mischief activities. You’ll find Mogstools all over the game where you can play Moogle Mischief, and we’re covering all the locations in this guide.

How to Find All Moogle Mischief Challenges in Final Fantasy Rebirth

There are seven Mogstools, the magical mushroom trees that provide access to the world of Moogle Mischief, scattered across Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. To date, I’ve managed to find five but will be updating the guide quickly with the remaining two.

The challenges themselves all use the same basic structure. You enter the Mogstool and need to capture five Mooglets that are having too much fun to do anything worthwhile. The higher their Mischief Level, the more attacks and attack varieties they can use. You can only take three hits total before you fail and need to start over from the beginning.

Each mooglet has a specific attack type:

  • Banana peels: Slip on them, and you take a hit.
  • Wind Blades: These circular, green blades move slowly but come out in groups of three.
  • Sparkle Mortars: Red targets will appear on the ground where the mortars will land.
  • Balloon Bombs: Or just colorful bombs that the Mooglet sends out in an area around itself. Their explosive radius is small, but there are a lot of them.
  • Bubbles: As the name suggests, the Mooglets fire slow-moving but comically large bubbles at you.

The higher the Mischief Level, the harder it is to get the Mooglets to the pin in the middle. They’ll run directly away from you when you get close, giving you some control over what direction they move. The higher their Mischief, the more barricades and hazards in the way. However, you’ll also gain access to whirlwinds that will stun the Mooglets for a few moments, allowing you to grab them and carry them for a little bit. If they get away, they will run from you.

Herding all five Mooglets into the central pen completes the challenge and unlocks additional stock at the Moogle Merchant. You can also replay different Mischief Levels for additional Moogle Medals, the shop currency.

Grasslands Moogle Mischief Mogstool Location

The first Mogstool you can find in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth isn’t far from Bill’s Chocobo Ranch. Exit the Ranch and head east by southeast down a path toward the coast. You should quickly see the mushroom house in the distance, where the Moogles await.

Junon Moogle Mischief Mogstool Location

Reaching the Mogstool in the Junon region takes a bit more work. First, you’ll want to get yourself the region’s Chocobo, then follow the path south, away from the city, around the cape, and north up against the cliffs. Continue following the road east, and you’ll eventually pass a Chocobo stop you can repair. Proceed just a bit farther, and on your left will be a wall your black chocobo can climb. The Moogles await on the higher level.

Corel Moogle Mischief Mogstool Locations

As the Corel region is divided into two zones — Costa Del Sol and its surrounds and the desert — there are two Mogstools to find. The first, in Costa Del Sol, is in the westernmost portion of the fields, past the factor on the northern edge of the zone and north of the Training Gym. No special need to reach it, either. Simply make your way up the hill before you reach Mt. Corel, and you’ll find your Moogles.

The second Moogle Mischief location takes quite a bit more effort to find. First and foremost, you need access to the desert, meaning you need to compete in most of the first Gold Saucer storyline, including the Chocobo races and all accompanying content. From there, travel southeast through the sands until you reach a thin pathway into a cave. Take the path all the way around, past the monster den, and out into a final clearing. As you see the sky again, you’ll also note the Mogstool.

Nibel Moogle Mischief Mogstool Location

The Nibel region is the last area you’ll reach before the final sections of the game. Thankfully, it’s not hard to reach (a level of difficulty that cannot be said for some of the last encounters in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth). From the airstrip, head east until you reach a pair of bridges. Rather than going across the one that leads to Nibelheim, take the more southern one, then cross the small field and the rivulet running through it to find the Mogstool.

Mogstools are, like all other World Intel locations, revealed by Remnawave towers, and I wholeheartedly recommend activating as many as you can throughout your time in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
