CoD MW3 Zombies: How to Find and Destroy Mercenary Convoy

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is here, and with it, the new Zombies mode. You’ll play through an assortment of missions to progress in the game, but it gets confusing for the Interceptor Act 1 Tier 2 mission. Here’s how to find and destroy a mercenary convoy in MWZ.

How to Find and Destroy Mercenary Convoy in MWZ

The first objective of the Interceptor mission is to find and destroy a Mercenary Convoy, which will set you on a wild goose chase. I must admit I was aimlessly searching for them at first, and you probably are, too. I found that the best way to find the Mercenary Convoy is to travel by vehicle around the map and look for a set of three enemy vehicles traveling around your tac-map. Unfortunately, the convoy’s spawn location is randomized, so it’ll take some time to find them across the sprawling map.

I found the Mercenary Convoy in Threat Zone Two. From my experience, you won’t encounter it in Zone One, which makes sense because it’s a rather challenging firefight. So, you’ll probably want to level up your weapons with Mystery Boxes or Pack-A-Punch machines before engaging with the Mercenaries. Of course, you’ll have an easier time if you drop into the MWZ map with some upgrades ready in your inventory.

You’ll need to eliminate all Mercenaries and destroy the Convoy vehicles to proceed. While the mission won’t prompt you to destroy the vehicles, I’ve found you might not be able to progress unless you do. Afterwards, make sure to pick up the Stronghold Keycard from the fallen mercenaries. The Stronghold Keycard has to be used in the same game, but it’ll give you access to the Mercenary Strongholds across the map, offering you a lasting advantage.
