Dave the Diver Seahorse Locations Guide

A seahorse here, a seahorse there, a seahorse in these depths to catch once you've got a Bug Net.

Dave the Diver has no shortage of content, the game peeling back one layer of mechanics after the other as you progress. You may see some seahorses early on, but you won’t be able to catch them until you progress past a certain point in the story, and their true value won’t be apparent until even further in.

All Seahorse Locations in Dave the Diver

  • You can catch seahorses once you have served Maki, the girl with a puppet on her hand, the Trevally Ochazuke she requests. This will grant the Bug Net tool.
  • Seahorses later have a use in seahorse racing, and each seahorse is different!
  • Once you unlock seahorse racing, you’ll have to register the individual ones you want to use with the NPC who starts the races.

I’m trying to be vague with my descriptions here since the journey in Dave the Diver is part of the fun. You get to collect and race seahorses; what more do you need to know? A lot of stuff, but we’re here for the horses. The seahorses. The seahorsies. Neigh-blub-blub!

There are 17 types of seahorsies you can find and snatch up with your Bug Net. They’re all over the place in the Blue Hole if you know where to look. It’s not easy to know where to look, considering how tiny seahorses are.

You’ll find them closer to the ground than most fish, and they can be difficult to discern among the plant life. You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled to actually find them.
