Take on the toughest enemies of humanity and earn powerful weapons in this week's Destiny 2 Nightfall activity.

Take on the toughest enemies of humanity and earn powerful weapons in this week's Destiny 2 Nightfall activity.

Every weekly rest in Destiny 2, the playlist for Nightfall — The Ordeal rotates the activity that rewards some of the game’s rarest and best weapons and materials. Each week also brings a new Nightfall weapon. Here’s the Nightfall weapon this week, May 23 through May 30, 2023.

What’s the Nightfall Weapon This Week in Destiny 2?

This week, you’ll earn the Buzzard Sidearm, an Adaptive Frame weapon with a good selection of all-purpose Perks usable in both PvE and PvP. Sidearms aren’t the best choices in most content, but they do have their place. With the right roll, even the Buzzard can stand out.

How to Get the Buzzard Sidearm This Week

To earn The Buzzard, you’ll be farming the Devil’s Lair Strike, originally released with the launch of the first Destiny. Expect most runs to be in the 10-15 minute range, especially on lower difficulties.

Buzzard Sidearm God Roll to Look For

Here’s one of the Buzzard god rolls you can grind for.

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Trait 1: Overflow
  • Trait 2: Kinetic Tremors

With this roll, the Buzzard is fantastic in almost any activity.

What are the Nightfall Modifiers This Week?

The modifiers for the Nightfall of May 23 to May 30 are fairly standard, and they work well with both Solar and Strand builds.

  • Both Arc and Strand surges are active, increasing their outgoing damage by 25%.
  • You’ll face Barrier and Overload Champions.
  • Arc Threat is active, meaning you’ll take 25% more damage from Arc sources.

What’s the Power Cap for This Week’s Nightfall?

Depending on the difficulty you choose, there will be a bevy of additional modifiers, like Equipment Lock, Extra Champions, and others. Your power level is also capped:

  • Hero: Maximum power 1765
  • Legend: Maximum power 1815
  • Master: Maximum power 1820

That works out to a -5, -15, and -20 forced power differential, and at Legend and Master difficulties, matchmaking is off. Unless you can take on the Strike by your lonesome, bring a fireteam of competent teammates.

Good luck farming the Nightfall weapon this week. Hopefully, you nab the Buzzard Sidearm with the roll you’re looking for, as neither are guaranteed rewards at any difficulty. For more D2 content, check out our guides hub.
