Every weekly reset in Destiny 2, the playlist for Nightfall — The Ordeal rotates the activity that rewards some of the game’s rarest and best weapons and materials. Each week also brings a new Nightfall weapon. Here’s the Nightfall weapon this week, September 26 to October 3, 2023.

What’s the Nightfall Weapon This Week in Destiny 2?

This week, you’ll be earning the Pre Astyanax IV Bow, a Precision Frame Bow that comes with some solid PvE and PvP perks, synergizes well with the Solar subclass, and is generally solid all around. It is, however, a bow, so take that for what it’s worth.

  • Bowstring: Polymer String
  • Arrow: Straight Fletching
  • Trait 1: Archer’s Tempo
  • Trait 2: Incandescent

With this roll, the Pre Astyanax IV would be a great partner for almost any Solar 3.0 build, especially in seasons where Bows have anti-Champion properties or in a build that revolves around the Radiant effect.

To earn Pre Astyanax IV, you’ll be farming Heist Battleground: Mars, which first appeared with the Season of the Seraph. Expect most runs to be in the 20-25 minute range, especially on higher difficulties.

What are the Nightfall Modifiers This Week?

The modifiers for the Nightfall for September 26 to October 3, 2023, are fairly standard, and they work well with both Arc and Strand builds.

  • Both Void and Strand surges are active, increasing their outgoing damage by 25%.
  • You’ll face Barrier and Unstoppable Champions.
  • Solar Threat is active, meaning you’ll take 25% more damage from Solar sources.

What’s the Power Cap for This Week’s Nightfall?

Depending on the difficulty you choose, there will be a bevy of additional modifiers, like Equipment Lock, Extra Champions, and others. Your power level is also capped:

  • Hero: Maximum power 1765
  • Legend: Maximum power 1815
  • Master: Maximum power 1820

That works out to a -5, -15, and -20 forced power differential, and at Legend and Master difficulties, matchmaking is off. Unless you can take on the Strike by your lonesome, bring a fireteam of competent teammates.

Good luck farming the Nightfall weapon this week in Destiny 2. Hopefully, you nab THE SWARM with the roll you’re looking for, as neither are guaranteed rewards at any difficulty. For more D2 content, check out our guides hub.
