Diablo 4: Exorcist’s Cache Side Quest and Cull the Wicked Walkthrough

Here's how to complete the Exorcist’s Cache side quest and Cull the Wicked special zone event in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 Exorcist’s Cache is a side quest that asks you to collect items from fallen enemies. D4 side quests are a great opportunity to flex your demon-slaying skills and earn some extra coin and renown, but completing this one can be a little tricky. There’s also a special zone event called Cull the Wicked that overlaps with the quest if you know where to look. Here’s our guide to help you complete the Exorcist’s Cache side quest and Cull the Wicked special zone event in Diablo 4.

To begin the Diablo 4 Exorcist’s Cache side quest, you’ll need to collect a Sealed Exorcist Cache from an eliminated enemy. I found mine in the Frigid Expanse region of Fractured Peaks, marked on the map above.

The drop is random, so getting the quest item might take a bit. Once you pick up the Sealed Exorcist Cache, you’ll be asked to “gather spirit anima from the undead.” Here’s what you need to do.

  • Kill the Wraiths and Phantoms in the circled region of your map within Fractured Peaks.
  • Collect the blue matter they drop, called Spirit Anima.
  • Continue collecting spirit anima from Wraiths and Phantoms until the quest gauge is full.
  • The quest will automatically complete when you’re done.
  • You’ll be rewarded +20 Fractured Peaks renown, an item cache, and gold and XP tailored to your level.

It’s good to know that even though there are more enemy types in the area, the Spirit Anima will only drop from Wraiths and Phantoms. Be sure to focus your efforts on the red ghosts and stay within the area.

If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for a way to earn more loot in Diablo 4. Directly overlapping the Exorcist’s Cache side quest region is the Cull the Wicked special zone event. Completing both is a quick way to boost your efforts.

You can find it in Kor Vos, a small area of ruins at the northeast corner of the Exorcist’s Cache quest circle, and marked on the map above.

To complete Cull the Wicked, simply slay all the enemies in Kor Vos, the ruins where the quest began. You can spot the enemies on your minimap in the top right corner, and the quest area will be circled. Once they’re all eliminated, you’ll be rewarded gold and XP tailored to your level.
