Diablo 4: How to Get Scattered Prisms

Need to add some sockets to your gear in Diablo 4? Then you'll need to farm Scattered Prisms.

Scattered Prisms are used in Diablo 4 to add Gem sockets to your gear. Having more Gems in your gear is an easy way to boost your build. Scattered Prisms can be hard to come by, however. Here’s how to get Scattered Prisms in D4.

How to Farm Scattered Prisms in Diablo 4

There are only a few ways to get Scattered Prisms in game. None of these methods give guaranteed Scattered Prisms, but you have the best chance of them dropping.

  • Defeat Treasure Goblins
  • Defeat World Bosses
  • Nightmare Dungeon Event Completion Chests

Defeat Treasure Goblins

Treasure Goblins are non-violent monsters that randomly pop up when you’re exploring Sanctuary. When hit, they’ll drop gold and start to run away. If they get far enough away for long enough, they’ll teleport, leaving you with meager piles of coin. If you defeat them, however, they may drop a Scattered Prism.

Check out our full guide on how to find and slay these treasure hoarders. This is the most efficient way to farm Scattered Prisms since they spawn more frequently than World Bosses.

Defeat World Bosses

There are three World Bosses that can spawn up to four times a day. An extremely strong enemy, you’ll need a large group of players gathered to take it on. When defeated, they drop a ton of loot, including the potential to drop Scattered Prisms. In addition to the loot they normally give, once a week you’ll get a special chest when you defeat a World Boss.

Event Chests in Nightmare Dungeons

Some events can occur in Dungeons in D4. Specifically, you’ll want to head into a Nightmare Dungeon and search out the event that lies within. Upon completing a local event in a Nightmare Dungeon, there’s a chance Scattered Prisms can drop as loot. Aim for Mastery to increase your odds of them dropping.

Those are the three ways to obtain Scattered Prisms in Diablo 4. Once you have enough, you’ll be able to add or increase the amount of sockets on your gear at a Jeweler. For more farming locations of other rare materials, or how to defeat World Bosses, check out our guide hub for D4.
