With early access now in full swing for PC users for The Elder Scrolls Online, there are still many players running into significant issues. Rest assured, you aren’t alone as I have had my hands full with singling out the pesky files responsible for some of the headache.
Who did I find? ADOBE FLASH PLAYER, THAT’S WHO!
Apparently some older versions of Adobe Flash Player, along with the version automatically available through Google Chrome, doesn’t like allowing Elder Scrolls Online to work. I cannot tell you how much of a headache it was to find. Since Monday, I’ve been trying to find the little bugger and now that I have, the game runs like it should. Today’s patch also helped things out after the servers were down for an insane amount of time.
So for those of you who still or recently ran into issues with not being able to load the game, here’s some steps to get the fix.
- Go into your Control Panel
- Go into Programs and Features
- Click on uninstall a program
- Locate your current Adobe Flash Player files (typically there are 2)
- Click on each file and select uninstall
- Restart your PC
- Go onto Internet Explorer to Adobe’s website (www.adobe.com) and re-download Adobe Flash Player
Once that’s completed, go onto Internet Explorer and go to the Elder Scrolls Online website to download or re-download the PC Client. From this point on, everything will run smoothly (fingers crossed). It will then install the game files, launcher and the latest patch. All you need to do is sit back and have a cup of coffee or tea and maybe pop a Xanax. After all is said and done, press play and enjoy!
