With Allagan Tomestones of Astrology being discontinued in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4, it’s time to move onto Allagan Tomestones of Casuality. You can turn-in your dusty old Tomestones for shiny new ones, though. So let’s go into how to exchange Tomestones in FFXIV for the newer type.

How to Exchange Tomestones in FFXIV

You can’t use Allagan Tomestones of Astrology to purchase gear anymore, and you won’t receive them as rewards, but you can convert them into Allagan Tomestones of Causality.

To exchange your old Tomestones, you’ll first want to head to Mor Dhona. Head to (X:22.7, Y:6.7) and speak with Auriana, who’s the vendor in the middle of one of the House of Splendors stalls located there. Select “Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy Exchange,” and she’ll give you Allagan Tomestones of Causality.

The exchange rate isn’t 1:1 for these Tomestones. I had about 660 Tomestones of Astronomy, and I received about 160 Tomestones of Causality when I exchanged them. However, there’s currently no use for the Tomestones of Astronomy, so receiving any amount of Tomestones of Causality is more beneficial than holding onto old Tomestones.

It’s not clear how long this exchange option will be available for old Tomestones. These are hardly the first type of Tomestones to be discontinued, but there aren’t currently any exchange options for other discontinued types. As such, it’s probably better to head to Auriana and exchange them sooner rather than later so that you’re able to get some use out of the Tomestones you earned.
