Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos – How to Get Silver Ore

Silver Ore is a valuable resource that you'll need to rebuild your barn in The Winds of Anthos. Here's how to get it.

Silver is one of the resources that Doc Jr. needs to rebuild your animal barn in Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos. Fortunately, the building material can be forged from raw ore. However, getting your hands on this resource can be a tough task in the early game. Here’s how to get silver ore in The Winds of Anthos without fainting in the process.

You can mine silver ore in Lenctenbury Mine, just outside Lenctenbury Village. The raw material can only be found from floor B10 and on. Even so, you may still need to explore deeper levels. Silver ore is a pretty rare find. I managed to find my first lode on floor B13.

In the early game, it can be difficult to make it this far in the mine without stamina buffs. This means you’ll need to mine like a pro to avoid fainting. Be sure to come prepared with food items to restore your stamina along the way. I like to bring along plenty of apples and mushrooms.

Pro Tip: Silver ore looks strikingly similar to iron ore. Be careful not to mistake one resource for the other. In the worst case scenario, you might pass up on the material you need to rebuild your barn. To avoid this, I recommend smashing the deposits you find at least once. This will tell you what material you’re dealing with.

Silver ore can be used to forge silver at Doc Jr.’s lab. You’ll just need to bring the necessary one silver ore and have 15 Gold to make it. Surprisingly, this is a small price to pay for your trouble.

Why is Silver Blacked Out in Doc Jr.’s Craft Menu?

Some Anthos players are having a tough time acquiring silver from Doc Jr. The material appears to be blacked out in the craft menu. Luckily, this isn’t a glitch or bug. Rather, it’s more of a technicality. If silver is blacked out in the craft menu, then your inventory is likely full.

Even though crafting silver requires the exchange of materials, you’ll still need an empty slot to hold the new item. Drop some items in your storage at home and return to Doc Jr. This should resolve the problem at hand.

That’s all there is to know about how to get silver ore in Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos. Once you’ve managed to pocket some of the material, you’ll have yourself a brand-new barn. For more helpful tips on life in Anthos, check out our guides hub for Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos.
