Pictomancer introduces a fun way to deal magical damage from a distance as a new job in FFXIV. Like Viper, this job arrived in the latest expansion, and now Warriors of Light can learn a whole new set of spells. Here’s how to become a Pictomancer in FFXIV: Dawntrail.
Becoming a Pictomancer in FFXIV Dawntrail
Before you can pick up the quest, you need a Disciple of War or Magic Job at Level 80 or higher. You also need to own the Dawntrail expansion and have it registered to your account.
Once you meet those requirements, it’s time to head to Old Gridania and speak with the Cheerless Healer at (X: 8.1, Y: 10.3). She’s near the Conjurers’ Guild Aetheryte, and has the quest “The Joy of Pictomancy.”
Your task is to find a moogle, and the Cheerless Healer suggests going to the Aetheryte Plaza to find him. Stand at (X: 11.1, Y: 11.3), and you find him trying to find people willing to learn Pictomancy. You approach him and express your interest in his magical painting abilities.
However, he wants to make sure that you are worth the job crystal. That means you’re heading to the Carline Canopy (X:12.3, Y: 13) for what is basically a job interview. Given the choices for answers, it’s hard to fail. Just pick one of the two positive answers for each question and avoid the negative third option. Then, you speak with him again and accept the job crystal.
