How to Get the Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk Hunter Exotic in Destiny 2

Make endless Void explosions when you equip Gyrfalcon's Hauberk in Destiny 2.

When the Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk Exotic chest piece released in Destiny 2, it was a nightmare in the Crucible, so much so that it was briefly disabled. Following a mechanic change, it’s no longer dominant in PvP, but almost every Void 3.0 Hunter will want to have a least one build using it in PvE.

Whenever you exit invisibility with the Hauberk equipped, you automatically receive 10 seconds of Volatile Rounds, upping your lethality several times, despite the recent nerf to Volalite activation rate. Here’s how to get Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk.

Where to Earn Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk in Destiny 2

There are five sources for Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk available right now, and none of them is a guarantee. On top of that, you’ll want a good stat spread, so just getting it once might not be enough.

Complete Legend or Master Difficulty Lost Sectors

Every day, a different Lost Sector is marked as Legend/Master difficulty, and completing that Lost Sector solo has a chance to award a specific armor slot Exotic. The slot offered that day is marked on both the Director icon and when you get near the flag that activates the activity.

These Lost Sectors prioritize Exotics you don’t already have in Collections, so wait until it’s a chest armor day and run the Lost Sector until you get Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk.

Farm High-Difficulty Nightfall Strikes

One of the main draws of Legend, Master, and Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes is the high chance of an Exotic armor drop upon completion, increasing commensurate with the difficulty. While the Exotics rewarded aren’t deterministic in any way, these activities are the best sources of Exotic armor and high-end upgrade materials in the game.

Buy it From Xur

When the weekend arrives, Xur makes his way to one of a few select locations in the system selling Exotic weapons and armor. He has a random selection of three armor pieces every week, plus a purchasable Exotic engram that prioritizes, but does not guarantee, an Exotic you don’t yet have.

Pick Up a Random Exotic Engram

As rare as they are, Exotic engrams drop in the wild from any enemy you defeat. You aren’t guaranteed anything from them, and they could be either weapons or armor, but if the above three methods have given no joy, a roll of the dice can’t be much worse.

Pull an Exotic Engram from the Season Pass

Both the free and premium Season Pass rows offer a few Exotic Engrams. Like the wild-dropped versions, your rewards here are entirely random, but they’re nonetheless one more way to try your hand at getting Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk.

Those are all the ways you can earn Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk. Sadly, there’s no surefire way to get your hands on it, but it’s more than worth the effort, as you can make some nasty, endgame-dominating builds with it equipped. For more content on Destiny 2, see our guides hub.
