How to Redeem Codes in Genshin Impact

Redeeming Genshin Impact codes is a great way to get some extra rewards and currency.

Of all the reward sources in Geshin Impact, those you get from codes are by far the easiest to obtain. They’re not tied to a character, activity, or fight. So knowing how to redeem codes in Genshin is vital, as they come out regularly and are almost always worth the few seconds it takes to actually redeem them.

How to Redeem Genshin Impact Promo Codes

For some reason, the actual code redemption menu in Genshin Impact is hidden behind several other menus and in a place that seems too far out of the way to be useful. Once you know where it is, it’s a small matter to get there whenever there are codes to redeem.

Here are the steps to redeem a code in Genshin Impact:

  • Open the pause menu
  • Click the Settings cog symbol on the left of the screen, just above the Quit Game button
  • In the menu, select Account
  • Click on the Redeem Now section of the Redeem Code line
  • Paste the code into the Enter redemption code dialog box that appears

If you redeemed successfully, you’ll get a message saying so. The same is true if the code fails to redeem. Any rewards associated with the code will go to your Mailbox within a few seconds to a minute.

One catch: because Genshin Impact promo codes cycle regularly, and some, like GENSHINGIFT, refresh every once in a while, sometimes you might get a successful redemption that gives no rewards. In these situations, you’ll instead get a piece of mail saying you have already redeemed the code. You’ll need to wait some indeterminate period of time for the rewards to return, though, in my experience, that can take months or longer.

Where to Find Genshin Impact Codes

The main source of Genshin Impact codes with serious rewards is the live streams of new version updates, which occur a week or so before a new numbered game version goes live. These codes come in threes, and each usually rewards 100 Primogems apiece. Additionally, other codes come online every little while.

Another great place to look for working codes is our Genshin Impact codes page, of course. We keep regular tabs on any new codes that come out, usually listing the updated livestream ones at the top. We also list all the rewards the codes provide, so all you need to do is copy and paste them into Genshin, knowing full well what you’ll get.

We’ve got plenty of other Genshin Impact content in our Genshin Impact guides hub, plus plenty more on the way as the game continues to evolve.
