How to Give Items to Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Transferring items between pawns and yourself is done from the inventory in a few simple steps:

  • Pause and go to the Items menu.
  • Locate the item you want to transfer.
  • Select it.
  • Various options will appear. You need to select Give.
  • Choose which pawn you want to transfer the item to.

The item will then transfer to the appropriate pawn and remain there until you either take it back or use it. The process of taking the item back is the same, just from the pawn’s inventory.

Be mindful of giving items to hired pawns, as they’ll keep the item and take it back to their owner when dismissed. This doesn’t apply to main pawns, as they’ll always be with you.

Why Transfer Items to Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2

There are several reasons why you’d want to transfer items to pawns, including:

  • You’ll get encumbered often, so it’s best to let pawns carry heavy items so you don’t get slowed down. It’s an easy way to increase inventory size.
  • Outfitting your pawns with the gear you buy for them.
  • Giving them consumables like Salubrious Draughts and Hairspuds, which they can use to heal you or themselves.

Just make sure you take back items from side pawns when you dismiss them. If not, their owner will get those items, and you’ll lose them permanently.
