You can unlock the 10 level-based titles in Helldivers 2 by leveling up and one special title through the Super Citizen Edition of the game. As soon as you start Helldivers 2 and finish the prologue, you’ll unlock the Cadet title at Level 0. These are displayed below your name on the squad screen and also at the end of a match.
Other players can see your title, and this is a great way to distinguish yourself among friends and in matchmaking. Here are all the titles of the game and the level you need to reach to unlock them:
- Level 0: Cadet
- Level 5: Space Cadet
- Level 10: Sergeant
- Level 15: Master Sergeant
- Level 20: Chief
- Level 25: Space Chief Prime
- Level 30: Death Captain
- Level 35: Marshal
- Level 40: Star Marshal
- Level 45: Admiral
- Level 50: Skull Admiral

How to Change Titles in Helldivers 2
Titles are similar to Ship Name in that they can only be changed once you’re on your ship. That said, they are equipped in the Armory rather than Ship Management:
- Go to the Armory and interact with it.
- Navigate to the Character tab.
- Click on Title.
- Pick the title you want and confirm with the Equip button.
Titles don’t grant any specific benefits or passive bonuses. They’re just a monicker of your experience. This is also an easy way to spot a high-level player without checking their profile.
