Where other Artifacts sometimes both have positive and negative modifiers, Honor simply makes the game harder. That said, if you’re an experienced player or are just looking for a greater challenge, you might see Honor as a completely positive effect either way. You can find it in the following location.

Risk of Rain Returns: How to Unlock the Artifact of Honor

As we mentioned, activating the Artifact of Honor in your run makes enemies always spawn as elite versions of themselves. It can be found in a variation of the Desolate Forest which is one of the two areas you can spawn in for Level 1.

If you’re in the right variation, you’ll be able to see the Artifact of Honor encased by a huge cliff above the middle part of the level. You cannot access it from the outside as easily but there’s a secret vine you can descend down into the cavern where it’s located.

Try to climb and navigate to the top of the cliff where the Honor Artifact is and find a little patch in the ground with a blueish terrain effect like in the picture above. Once you’re just above this location press down and you’ll begin to descend down a secret corridor. From here, simply walk to the right and pick up the Artifact. It’ll be available for selection in your next run.

56 Leaf Clover and Artifact of Honor Combo

If you’ve unlocked the 56 Leaf Clover item, I recommend pairing it with the Artifact of Honor if you’re running Command. The item makes it so that Elite mobs have a chance to drop items. With Artifact of Honor active, there will be plenty of elites running around waiting to be slain. Among the countless hordes of elites you’ll defeat, items are bound to spawn so keep a lookout and keep moving so you don’t get overwhelmed.

This is a great combination to boost your power level. The 56 Leaf Clover is an uncommon item so it can be a bit tricky to get. However, if you don’t have problems with using it, I’d advise activating the Artifact of Command since you’ll guarantee Cloves from green chests every time.

We hope this guide on how to unlock the Artifact of Honor in Risk of Rain Returns was useful to you. It can be a fun challenge to battle hordes of elites, especially if you’re looping and Monsoon is just not enough of a challenge for you.
